Garbage Collection

Effective January 1, 2022 garbage pickup service is provided by Strathcona Recycling & Disposal (250-207-6500 or strathconarecycling@gmail.com).

Garbage pickup day is THURSDAY.
Roads now being serviced: Danes Road, Pinecrest, Park Road, and Swan Road.

Garbage Tickets:
- All garbage bags must have a sticker
- $2.50 each ticket
- Purchase stick-on tags at:
  - Denman General Store (cash or cheque only | paid separately from General store purchases)
  - Recycling Centre
- Max weight 40lbs

Cash is no longer accepted at the point of garbage pickup – bags with cash WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.The DIRA Waste Management Committee oversees activities related to recycling and waste collection, promotion of waste reduction through education and the 3 Rs (reducing, reusing, recycling), and manages the Recycling Depot, the ReUsables Store (The Free Store), the Bottle Depot and garbage pickup service.
